Non-Profit
Over the past decade, we had the opportunity to work for some of the finest not-for-profit organization in Montreal. We feel very privileged to be part of the great work they do every day.

The Human Promise
The Human Promise is a student-run charity that is committed to ensuring that action is taken to preserve human dignity and safety in troubled areas of the world. The organization is raising awareness and funds for the causes of suffering populations in zones of humanitarian disaster e.g. Darfur, Sichuan and the Congo.
CommDesign was asked to develop a cohesive branding for this cause. We developed a dynamic and contemporary, bilingual logo: with a postmodern soft-flow sans-serif font and a symbol that has a subtle positive/negative space balance. The colorful part is composed of four human figures with outstretched arms, joined together to form a circle. The colors of the human figures portray different ethnicities while the shape of a circle stands for the “whole” (universe) and renewal (the ever evolving circle of life).
It reflects the organization’s global geographic outreach. In the positive (white) space surrounded by the human shapes, we see four arrows forcefully reaching out of the center to all four cardinal points and around the globe. This entire symbol is centrally placed and flows out of the French logotype version and into the English one uniting the two.
CIJA – Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs
The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs is a non-partisan organization creating and implementing strategies to improve the quality of Jewish life in Canada and abroad, increase support for Israel, and strengthen the Canada-Israel relationship. Working in partnership with Federations and local communities, CIJA is the advocacy agent of Jewish Federations of Canada. It seeks to identify important issues and assist in communicating with government, media, community, business, and academic leaders to build understanding and close relationships. Recognizing the important role that the Jewish community can play in the public life of Canada, the Centre works to establish and strengthen positive and mutually beneficial relations with other faith and ethno-cultural communities.
